Vijay Shankar Earlier Life:
Vijay Shankar was born on January 26, 1991 (age 28 Years) in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, India. His father H. Shankar is a former club cricketer and he has a brother named Ajay Shankar who plays league cricket.
Later, he moved to Chennai to concentrate on his studies and cricket career as well. He completed his schooling in Modern Senior Secondary School, Nanganallur, Chennai and graduated in Guru Nanak College, Chennai.
He began his career as an off-break bowler but he developed into a medium pacer as there were a lot of spinners in the Tamil Nadu team.
Physical Appearance – Vijay Shankar height 1.83 m (6’0″ Feet) and Weight 75 kg. He has a black colour hair and a dark brown eye. He belongs to Hindu religion and caste details are unknown.
Vijay Shankar Career:
Vijay Shankar made his List A debut for his state, Tamil Nadu against Andhra in 2012 at Bangalore. In the same year, he made his first-class debut against Vidarbha in 2012-13 Ranji Trophy at Nagpur.
His outstanding performances in the domestic cricket were noticed by the IPL franchises and he was bought by Chennai Super Kings in 2013. He stayed with them for three years to play only one game.
In the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy season, the all-rounder scored 577 runs from just 7 games that helped his team to reach the finals. In 2016, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad but he did not play. He played four games in 2017 and scored an unbeaten fifty against Gujarat Lions.
Despite his decent performances, he was released by the Hyderabad and he went on to play for Delhi Daredevils in 2018. He was traded back to SRH for the 2019 IPL season.
In 2017, he was named in the Test squad against Sri Lanka as the replacement of Bhuvneshwar Kumar but he did not play. He made his T20I debut during the Nidahas Trophy against Sri Lanka.
Shankar bagged his first Player of the Match Award when he picked two crucial wickets for 32 runs against Bangladesh. In January 2019, he was named as Hardik Pandya’s replacement in India’s ODI squad for their series against Australia.
Vijay Shankar played along with MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, David Warner and Gautam Gambhir in the IPL. He represents the Indian team in 2018 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. He also played along with Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik and many more.
