Siddesh Lad was born on 23 May 1992 (age 27 Years) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. His father name is Dinesh Lad who is a cricket coach and has coached many Mumbai cricketers including Indian international cricketer Rohit Sharma. His mother name is Deepali Lad and he has a sister named Shraddha Lad.

He completed his schooling in Swami Vivekanand International, Borivli, Mumbai and graduated in Rizvi College, Bandra (West), Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Siddesh Lad started playing cricket at an early age under his father’s guidance and captained the Western Wolves team in the Toyota University Cricket Championship (UCC) and quickly climbed up the ranks through the age-group circuit under the tutelage of Pravin Amre.

Lad came into limelight when he made his List A debut against Saurashtra on February 17, 2013, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2013-14 as he made an instant impact by scoring 115 runs off 91 balls which includes 7 fours and six sixes.

He made his T20 debut for his state team, Mumbai against Baroda on March 17, 2013, at Ahmedabad. In the same year, he made his first-class debut against Punjab in 2013-14 Ranji Trophy at Chandigarh.

Lad showed his mettle in the very next game of that tournament by smashing 74 in the first and 85 in the second innings. Despite his impressive performances, Lad had also struggled with injuries and illness.

But he came back strongly and had a good season in 2014-15 as he scored 562 runs in 7 first-class games and 817 runs in 12 matches in the 2015-16 Ranji season. He started to win games single-handedly for his team, like the 88 runs he scored in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy final against Saurashtra.

With his consistent performance in the domestic circuit, he was bought by Mumbai Indians in the IPL Auction 2015. But Lad had to wait for 5 years to make his IPL debut. Lad made his IPL debut against Kings XI Punjab as he hit a six off the first ball he faced before being dismissed on 15.

In the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season, Lad has been impressive, scoring 652 runs in 7 games and was the leading run-scorer for Mumbai in the tournament.
