Sam Curran was born on 03 June 1998 (age 21 Years) in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. His father, Kevin Malcolm Curran was a former Zimbabwe cricketer and coach of Zimbabwe and his grandfather Kevin Patrick Curran was a first-class cricketer in Zimbabwe.

He is the younger brother of Tom Curran who is a bowling-allrounder and represents Surrey and England and Ben Curran who plays for Northamptonshire as a batsman. His mother name will be updated soon.

On 19 June 2015, he made his senior debut for Surrey against Kent in the NatWest T20 Blast competition, aged 17 years and 16 days. Curran made his first-class debut for Surrey against Kent in the County Championship Division on 13 July 2015.

In doing so, Sam became a second youngest first-class cricketer for Surrey aged 17 years and 40 days, behind left-arm spinner Tony Lock who debuted at the age of 17 years and 8 days. During the match against Kent at Oval, Curran picked 5 wickets and became the youngest player to take a five-wicket haul in a County Championship game.

He made his List A debut against Northamptonshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup at the Oval on 27 July 2015. Sam Curran was selected in England’s Under-19 squad for the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup hosted by Bangladesh where he impressed everyone with his all-round performances.

He played all six games for his nation and scored 201 runs in five innings that he played at an average of around 51 and took seven wickets at an average of 20.57. In January 2018, he was added to England’s Test squad for the Trans- Tasman Tri-Series against New Zealand and Australia but he did not play.

Later, Sam won a contract to play for the Auckland Aces in the 2017-18 Super Smash T20 tournament. Curran made his Test debut against Pakistan on 1 June 2018 where he scored 20 runs in England’s only innings and picked 2 wickets in all in the match.

He made his ODI debut against Australia at Manchester on 24 June 2018 and became the second youngest ODI cricketer for England after Ben Hollioake. Sam Curran bagged his first Man of the Match award in the Test series against India where he took 4 wickets in the first innings and also smashed his first half-century in the second innings of the game.

Curran, who plundered 272 runs with 11 scalps, was named as the Player of the Series. After his spectacular performances in both Domestic and International matches, IPL franchises were shown lots of interest to pick him ahead of the IPL 2019 and finally, KXIP bought him for a whopping price of Rs. 7.2 crore.

Curran took a hat-trick in his second game in the IPL 2019 which helped his franchise to win the game against Delhi Capitals.
